Co-Occurring/Chemical Dependency Evaluations

Co-Occurring Evaluation (COE):

A co-occurring evaluation is a comprehensive clinical assessment that simultaneously examines an individual's mental health and substance use disorders to understand their interconnectedness and develop an integrated treatment plan. This process gathers information on mental and substance use symptoms, history, functioning, and risks to provide appropriate recommendations for addressing both conditions at the same time, as treating them separately can be less effective.

Chemical Dependency Evaluation (CDE):

A chemical dependency evaluation is a type of assessment used by professionals in the addiction treatment space to help determine if you have a dependence on any specific drug. A person with dependency needs these substances to feel normal and to function as they need to during the day. It doesn’t mean they are high all of the time or unable to function. Rather, their body and brain are dependent on the substance to get through the day.
